Us And Them. Have you ever wondered exactly who it is that this president is concerned about? Whose lives does he want to improve and enrich? Whose ideas about what this nation represents and how it should conduct its business matters to this chief executive? Do you ever feel like everything he says and does is out of step with what you believe and how you were raised? Whether you are Democrat or Republican, does Obama speak the words that ring true to your heart and convictions? Consider carefully some of the words he has spoken…
The president speaking at a fundraiser in San Francisco…“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
Really? In his fictionalized biography, did Obama ever contend with even a bit of the adversity that people in Pennsylvania and the Midwest have dealt with in their lifetimes? Does he have any concept whatsoever of what it takes to keep a job and pay the bills? He has basically had a free ride his entire life, and will for the rest of it. How arrogant and insulting is it for him to pass judgment on people who work for a living and enjoy their gun sport and their religion?
Not only will history reflect that our current president is the most incompetent in history and has failed miserably at even the most basic responsibilities of the executive office; it will also record that he has been one of, if not the most, divisive president in history. Given the opportunity to bring this nation together in a way that was heretofore unimaginable, Obama has chosen instead to pursue a selfish pursuit of ideology and partisanship, splitting our nation person against person and party against party.
As reported by Dave Boyer or the Washington Times, president Obama is also taking a swipe at the Founding Fathers, blaming his inability to move his agenda on the “disadvantage” of having each state represented equally in the Senate. At a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago, Mr. Obama told a small group of wealthy supporters that there are several hurdles to keeping Democrats in control of the Senate and recapturing the House. One of those problems, he said, is the apportionment of two Senate seats to each state regardless of population.
“Obviously, the nature of the Senate means that California has the same number of Senate seats as Wyoming. That puts us at a disadvantage,” Mr. Obama said. The president also blamed “demographics” for the inability of the Democratic Party to gain more power in Congress, saying Democrats “tend to congregate a little more densely” in cities such as New York and Chicago. He said it gives Republicans disproportional clout in Congress. “So there are some structural reasons why, despite the fact that Republican ideas are largely rejected by the public, it’s still hard for us to break through,” Mr. Obama said.
Reference the map below. Red is Republican and Blue is Democrat. What you see are the 2012 election results by county. What is abundantly clear is that our president feels that he represents the people who reside in the blue counties. If you happen to be one of the folks who live in a red county and cling to your gun or your religion, you might consider yourself SOL. Now you tell me; when viewing the map below, can a reasonable person say that Republican ideas (red counties) are largely rejected by our nation?
The sad reality is that not only is our president not ready for prime time, he is a fool that most everyone recognizes other than himself. The smartest one in the room?...hardly. He is the great orator who is lost without his teleprompter. He knows more about foreign policy than his foreign policy experts? He knows exactly what the “people” want and anyone who disagrees is either an idiot or unpatriotic. He knows better what is best for you and your family than you know yourself? This is what Obama has wrought: A nation diminished in the eyes of the world; a nation divided by ethnicity, race, and perceived class; a government that more closely resembles the Keystone Kops than a functioning entity; corruption that has led to ineffectiveness, inefficiency, and terrible costs to individuals; a loss of pride and purpose based on the great principles of our forefathers; and a lack of faith in our leaders. This man did not run for President because he loved this country; he ran for President because he did not like this country and wanted to change it. His “hope and change” was a personal vision that would comport to his ideals and concepts; not an affirmation of all that this nation has stood for since its inception. His wife, echoing his sentiment, first became proud of our nation when we elected her husband. Really?
We now apprehensively wait for each party to select Obama’s potential replacement. Is there one out there who can repair the damage done? Who can heal the wounds laid open so raw? Who can restore trust and respect to the institutions of our government? Who can subjugate their personal ambitions and ideology to the greater good and work across the aisle with the opposing party? Who can function in an honest and transparent fashion, allowing citizens to understand exactly what it is that he or she stands for? Whoever takes the reins of the presidency from Obama, God be with them; for they will certainly need His wisdom, His strength, and His patience.
