The Perfect Match-Up

It is really an exercise in futility to attempt a prediction about the 2024 presidential election. Both national parties have issues with their leading candidates and even though the Republican alternatives are more visible at the present, there are without a doubt a few Democrats waiting in the wings for Joe Biden to finally make it crystal clear to everyone that he is incapable of running for reelection.

Both Biden and Trump have some very serious legal issues to contend with. Trump’s legal issues are combined with the self-inflicted problems brought on by his ego and boisterous personal behavior; he invites turmoil and seems to thrive on it. Biden’s legal issues must be viewed in the same context as his obvious physical and mental impairments. It is difficult to see how the combination of those two elements can avoid sinking his reelection efforts.

At this early date, I will venture an intriguing possibility. I think a Ron DeSantis versus Gavin Newsom race for the presidency in 2024 would be a great choice for our nation. Each of these gentlemen has been in charge of running governments in one of our largest states. Each of these gentlemen respectively represent the quintessential prototypes of the conservative (DeSantis) and the liberal (Newsome) politician. They would both have a clear and definitive record of how they ran their state governments and people will be able to judge for themselves the results of those efforts.

Perhaps best of all, it will to some degree reframe the presidential race into one mainly of ideas and policies rather than stolen elections, family corruption, octogenarian senility, and obstruction of justice. It would be a good step towards beginning the process of putting extreme polarization behind us and moving forward with a serious discussion about what type of country we want to give to our children. Wouldn’t that be refreshing?

Before getting to the linked articles relating to the topics of the day, I would like to make one other point. Power and influence in America have always engendered favorable treatment from law enforcement. In fact, that confluence of attributes has historically combined to create a special life style altogether for the rich and famous and powerful.

That privilege has not been defined by race or nationality. It has not been restricted by bounds of gender or profession. As different as they may be politically, Obama and Trump are both products of privilege and the lives they now lead have no semblance to those of ordinary Americans.

But the phenomenon of political corruption surrounding the Biden Family Enterprises that is slowly being exposed is a startling new and frighteningly dangerous new vein of personal greed enabled by political power. I believe what makes it different is the sheer arrogance and hubris that Biden and all of his affiliates demonstrate in their shameless response to the accusations that are beginning to accumulate around them. Political denial has always been an art and has proven over the years to be quite effective in the self-preservation of political animals. Unfortunately, the old axiom about “if you tell a lie often enough, it becomes the truth” has proven all too reliable. But in Biden’s case, he doesn’t even seem to bother with denial. His smirks and asinine laughter responses at serious questions about his conflicts of interest and questionable behavior while serving as a U.S. Senator, a Vice-President, and a sitting President show an indifference to public opinion that is truly chilling.

Joe Biden, his Democrat Party, and their cabal of deep state disciples, mainstream media puppets, and zombie-like members of Congress have taken their approach to dealing with accusations of corruption to levels never before seen. Biden Inc. has been passing out urine and telling folks it is wine; many have been drinking. At some point…hopefully sooner rather than later…the effort and self-deprecation required to consume that bitter drink will become too much for many folks to contend with. The walls that have been built around this despicable group of scoundrels have served them well for a while now, but it has given them what I hope and pray is a false sense of security and empowerment. The walls are beginning to crack. Will the cracks lead to crumbles? Will the crumbles lead to exposure? Will exposure lead to accountability and consequences? The next few months in American politics will answer all of those questions.

Merrick Garland is the ultimate political hack and we are so damn fortunate that Senator Mitch McConnell had the political courage to keep him from joining the Supreme Court of the United States. The contrast between the manner in which the Department of Justice (DOJ) has handled Donald Trump’s legal issues compared to how it has handled those of Hunter Biden is…shall we say…dramatically different. There are a trilogy of Biden Corruption Dramas playing out simultaneously and it is difficult, if not impossible, to separate them from each other. Hunter’s sophomoric adventures are one. The Search for a New “Useful Idiot”

All policy aside, any sentient being can observe our President these days and easily realize that he is incapable of effectively serving the balance of his current-four year term, much less an additional four-year term. Perhaps those most concerned about this dawning reality are the Democrats in control of their national party apparatus. The shelf life on their current useful idiot has obviously expired and now, at this late date, they are in desperate need of a replacement. The bench for that substitute is thin.

Regardless of your political standing and the very real facts surrounding irregularities in the 2020 elections, it has to be acknowledged that the Democrat Party pulled off an amazing feat by getting Joe Biden elected president in the first place. He literally camped out in his basement, posing as a stealth candidate under the guise of the covid epidemic, and won a razor-thin election to the presidency. This was against an incumbent President that received more votes in his second run for office than he did in his first run for office. Remarkable, isn’t it? How do you suppose they did that?

However, the short-term Democrat goal of defeating Trump and gaining control of the Executive Branch of our government is perhaps proving out to be limited in scope. While in effective control of our nation’s government for his first two years in office, President Biden and the Democrats have undoubtedly changed the personality and direction of this nation and its people. The changes they have managed to foster over a twenty-four month period are breathtaking. But now that the celebration of the last race win is waning and the next race is being anticipated, it is becoming apparent that their champion on top of the podium is incapable of getting down off of the podium…much less running the next race.

What appears to be the daily deterioration of our President is painful and tragic to watch. But for Democrats, it must also be terribly alarming. Joe Biden was an empty vessel that the Democrat powers-that-be were able to fill up with their dogma, their doctrine, and their policy initiatives. They have exercised immaculate mastery over the strings that control Biden’s every (well…perhaps not every...but certainly every scripted) word and action. Their marionette presidency has played out according to plan, but the vessel has sprung a leak(s). If they are to continue their ham-fisted control of the White House and all of the influence it entails, how can they feasibly…and sensitively…nudge Biden to the side and find a new puppet that can not only duplicate their last victory, but also offer the pliability necessary to serve their political purposes without undue independence? This is quite the dilemma for the Democrats.

The Republican Party has a boisterous nomination circus underway with Trump, DeSantis, and et.al…. but it is quite likely that the Democrat Party has a much more difficult hurdle to clear in anticipation of the next national election. Watching our President’s choreographed daily routines, can anyone truly believe that he could conduct another basement campaign, much less one that actually resembles a conventional run for office? Buckle up for the most bizarre presidential primary season that our nation has ever witnessed.

The presidential primary system for both national parties is a mess. It takes too long, it costs too much money, it is extraordinarily uncoordinated, and it gives disproportionate influence to certain states and certain candidates. It needs to be reconsidered.

These are the strangest economic times I have seen in my lifetime; there are so many contradictions. In many ways….is is like Dickens wrote…. “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times”. I follow the economic statistics that are periodically sprinkled upon the general populace and there are so many that simply do not make sense. What I read seldom jives with what I see. I can’t help but believe that based on my life experience, the good things we are seeing in our economy are not sustainable because they are mortgaged upon the bad things we are seeing in our economy. I feel like our nation…and perhaps the world…is hurtling down a hillside blindly without being fully aware of awaits us at the bottom. We can only hope it is a big, soft cushion.

Like the majority of Americans, I support government policies that allow for reasonable, equitable, efficient, and stable legal immigration…while I am simultaneously and adamantly opposed to the free-for-all, open border policies of the Democrats and the Biden Administration. If we lose our ability to enforce our borders, we will lose our country. On the other hand…we must never forget that our nation was founded by immigrants and legal immigration is what has led us to be the most diverse and rich nation on the planet. One of the greatest losses our country has experienced over the last few decades is the fact that we no longer have a credible, responsible, ethical, and professional mainstream media with integrity. Our Department of Justice (DOJ) has become a cesspool of corruptive, partisan, blatant, and likely criminal behavior where unabashed political consideration has become the prime directive for all matters. Regrettably, I have reached a point where I believe simple reforms will no longer solve the intrinsic problems that are now inherent in the DOJ. A sweeping, fundamental, and through cleansing and reformation of our DOJ must take place if our government is to regain any modicum of respect and credibility in the broad arena of national justice.
