CenterlineRight: Here’s Some Great Reading and Great Listening

In my part of this great land we call America, there is an early morning and late evening hint of fall in the air and I am loving every minute of it. Spring is that wonderful season when nature wakes up from its winter sleep and life abundant is in the air. But…spring is so frenetic and full of demands. To me, the fall is more laid back and relaxed; it gives time for reflection on what has transpired in months just passed and preparation for what lies ahead in the approaching winter. It’s like…spring is Christmas and fall is Thanksgiving.

I would like to carry that peaceful, easy feeling over into this post. I will cut back on the personal (too oftentimes critical) commentary to leave more room for some good tunes at the end. I trust you will appreciate the trade-off. Besides that…there are some really great articles linked in this post and I urge you to consider them all.

The one, brief comment I will make as a lead-in is simply this: Hatred in any form or fashion is an abomination. It is evil, it is corrosive, and it sucks the goodness out of anyone or anything who promote it. Anti-Semitism has reached a crisis point in our country. It is absurd for any American citizen to value Muslim or Communist nation principles over Israeli principles. Israel is our country’s strongest and perhaps most similar global ally. Like the USA, they are not perfect. But they value the same fundamental freedoms that are found in our Constitution. Their enemies are our enemies. They fight and bleed beside us on the battlefield every day. Whether it is “radical religiosity” or “flavor of the month” attempts to be cool and popular…it is beyond foolish to condone anti-Semitic behavior and the abandonment of Israel as our foremost ally; not only in the Middle East, but on this entire planet.
