There’s Something Happening Here

Settle yourself snug into your seat for a continuation of what is perhaps the strangest presidential election in the history of our nation.  Against all odds, Donald Trump survived a presidential election defeat four years ago to once again ascend to the head of his party and represent them as their nominee in 2024.  Even more remarkably, Kamala Harris never even participated in her party’s presidential primary contests and yet she stands today as their presidential nominee.  And…we still have nearly three months to go until the election.

 

Does anyone really want to win this election?  The Republicans selected Trump as their nominee over what would appear to be at least two other candidates who had better chances of being elected president.  Either DeSantis or Haley would likely be far ahead of Harris at this point in the process.  With a ticket of DeSantis and Haley, the election would essentially be a fait accompli. 

 

The Democrats seemed oblivious to all the senility-related warning signs that President Biden has been giving off over the last couple of years and hitched their 2024 presidential wagon to him anyway.  The Biden/Trump debate ended that fantasy.  Having dug their nomination hole so deep as to be ensconced in darkness, they decided to make their final stand on the Kamala Harris hill; knowing all the while that her entire political career has been a record of one failure after another.  On the other hand, they had painted themselves in a corner and essentially had no other options.

 

Now the contest is engaged with Trump reverting back to his old “everything is about me” fixation while the Democrats are attempting a sequel to their 2020 “hide the candidate in the basement” strategy.   These are the options the American voters are given for their Chief Executive during one of the most perilous times in world history.  This fact is a terrible indictment of our national election system and a colossal failure on the part of both national parties.

 

As if to double down on their puzzling decisions and high challenges that lay before them, both of the major party candidates eschewed the opportunity to select high political-quality running mates that would balance their tickets and significantly improve their chances of winning in November.  Instead, they each selected what can best be described as a mini-me version of them to serve as their campaign cohorts.   

 

One thing is certainly clear about this upcoming election: If one can cut through the shade being thrown by all of the parties involved and their supporting casts, the political record shows that there exists a distinct and philosophical difference in the approach to governing between the Republican candidates and the Democrat candidates.  The essential question is this…Can the average American voter cut through the shade?

There are well-meaning people on either side of the emotional debate that surrounds the subject of abortion in America.  The radical elements in each of the opposing factions occupy what can best be described as extreme positions.  But it is simply beyond dispute that the issue of late-term abortions that occur up to, during, and post delivery are nothing short of barbaric and inhuman.  This area of abortion is indefensible.

Testing the Physics of This Universe

During the course of my lifetime, I have periodically witnessed and accepted the dismantling of laws or rules that I had previously embraced as unimpeachable.  Since my courses in college economics, there have been several repeated instances where those hard and fast principles taught at that time have been proven less than infallible.  The simple fact is that we humans are pretty much full of ourselves and we are not nearly as smart as we seem to think.  Occasionally, it is apparently necessary to remind us of that through a stark demonstration of reality.  Unfortunately, the cure is always quite temporary in nature and we reliably revert back to our innate arrogance of intellectual superiority and certitude.

 

Isaac Newton famously said “What goes up must come down”.  Now I could be mistaken, but this gravitational principle has held up pretty well over the history of man on earth.  However, we just might be entering into an American episode that could truly test this law.  Since she ran for president against Joe Biden and others back in 2020, Kamala Harris has experienced a bump or two in rising credibility and popularity; but she has always managed to somehow come back down to earth from those lofty heights…sometimes in crashing fashion. 

 

As we wind through these next 90 some odd days leading up to November’s presidential election, it is going to be interesting to see if Harris once again surrenders to the inherent laws of nature and slides back down the glory hill to her normal position as a radical bubblehead.  As of right now, she is doing an outstanding job of maintaining altitude.  But…the crosswinds have not yet gathered full strength; the fuel tank that was full is now being consumed rapidly;  and the ladder  upon which she has climbed will now take some pretty intense scrutiny and likely absorb some buffeting.  Will Sir Newton’s standard once again survive testing, or will Harris and her progressive hoards succeed in destroying another universal truth that has been considered infallible? 

Can all the king’s horses and all the king’s men put Kamala back together again…and keep her that way until Election Day?   There are three-plus months to go before the verdict is in, but let us begin the process of considering all things Kamala.

When you begin to look more closely at the Biden/Harris Administration’s anti-Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) rhetoric, it soon becomes pretty damn clear that the one and only reason for their SCOTUS-reformation plans is the simple fact that their idiotic ideals are not receiving judicial blessings these days.  Is it not peculiar that as long as the SCOTUS had a left-to-middle majority, it was considered a bastion of good government and justice?  But now that the progressive cabal’s lunatic fringe notions are being judicially shot down with an escalating frequency, the SCOTUS structure is suddenly circumspect?  If the nation returns Democrats to Congressional majority status this fall and puts a Democrat in the White House, can there be any doubt that the radical SCOTUS plans being put forward by the Biden/Harris Administration will come to fruition?  With that final firewall effectively mitigated, the Democrat’s progressive vision of these United States would accelerate tremendously and in short order, our constitutional form of government will become a memory.
