As we venture further and further into the first term of President Joe Biden, the world around us gets stranger and stranger. Is this the natural result of an ever-evolving planet and people? Is it just a fact that we are all simply along for the ride on a hunk of rock with some dirt and water on it, hurtling through space? Or…is it a result of an incompetent old fool being placed at the apex of our government as Chief Executive and his party being highjacked by a group of people who have disposed of old truths and traditions in wholesale fashion and are demanding absolute fealty to their unique set of ideals, values, and agendas? I suspect the latter, but I cannot be certain. Of this I am certain…. two plus two no longer equals four.
The forfeiture by the
Fourth Estate to any semblance of ethics, morals, or integrity has left us to
be the sole judge and formulator of our own truths. The American people have never quite been
comfortable with that. When two
consecutive quarters of negative economic growth can be called by our President
to be the “strongest economy” and he is not called out on it … then
something is off. When the Biden
Administration’s pixie spokesperson stands before the WDC press corps and
simply denies realities with no compunction or explanation and gets a pass by
the overwhelming majority of the reporters … then something is off. When our government strangles our energy
sector with regulation and edict, ships our precious oil supplies to Europe,
who has been cut off by Russia, who is brokering a deal between us and Iran, who
is actively targeting our government officials for assassination…then something
is off. Abraham Lincoln is reported to
have said the following:
If I should call a sheep’s tail a leg, how
many legs would it have?’
‘Five.’ ‘No, only four; for my calling the
tail a leg would not make it so.’
Honest Abe had a pretty
firm grasp on reality; but the world today has lost that grasp. If a lie is told often enough, it will become
the truth. History is largely a matter
of who is writing the history; and it is being rewritten with a passion. If people allow themselves to be driven into
submission and surrender their rights and liberties to overlords of authority,
then they will suffer the consequences. If
we (each of us) are played for a fool and we simply go along with it,
then we are a fool. We get the
government we deserve. Read carefully
about what our government is doing. So
