There are local politics and there are national politics. The local arena is close to home and is somewhat easier to evaluate. Even though the media on both sides of the political spectrum fills the world with bias, our local U.S. Senators/Representatives and our State/County officials are featured in our local media and have satellite offices nearby. We can track their performance pretty well. On the other hand, the national presidential and non-local Congressional offices are more difficult to assess. We pretty much have to rely on non-personal experience and national information sources to get an idea of how they might be performing. And, as we all know these days, those “other” sources are highly disreputable. Other than the presidential, we as individuals have little to say about how these non-local political races are decided.
There is no excuse NOT
to be informed about local political races; they are in our yard. When it comes to those other contests that
are either national or non-local, it is important for each of us to track the
trends of the national parties. We need
to decide which party’s policies we agree with and factor that into the impact
of our local political contests.
With an historically-small Democrat majority in the House and a
dead-even Senate, anyone should be readily aware of how important a single U.S.
Senator or U.S. Representative can be in the big picture. If you need further convincing, just imagine
what the last two years might have looked like if those two special Senate
races in Georgia had split between the parties or both had gone
Republican. Every vote counts and
every race is important. You can
never know for certain which vote or which race might make a critical
difference in the overall scenario and the balance of power.
Now some races might be
publicized as being more critical than others; but the fact remains that a
Senate seat is a Senate seat…regardless of the state it represents. What draws the attention is the
competitiveness of the contests and the logistics/demographics of the
contests. If a race is not close at all,
it is understandable why it will receive a small amount of media coverage. If a race is super close or appears likely to
flip from one party to the other, it is obvious why that particular race will draw
extraordinary attention. Many times,
these types of contests have been portrayed as the determining factor in which
party controls our government.
Elections are very
difficult to predict, but it appears to be a consensus that the
Republicans will likely gain majority status in the House next month. However, three races that are occurring in
the Senate bear extra scrutiny. Because
they are so competitive and potentially consequential, they are drawing a huge
amount of media coverage and the stakes could not be higher for either
party. Those races are Fetterman(D) v.
Oz(R) in Pennsylvania; Kelly(D) v. Masters(R) in Arizona; and Warnock(D) v.
Walker(R)) in Georgia. The winners in
these three races will only have one vote in the Senate; no more than a Senator
from any other state. But the results of
these three races might very well determine whether Joe Biden completes his
first term with a divided Congress or deals with a Congress that is united
against him. It could be the difference
between gridlock and veto-wielding. It
could dramatically affect the status of presidential nominations that require
Senate confirmation. These three Senate
races could very likely determine the way our government functions in terms of
policy and performance over the next two years.
So, learn all you can about your local representatives; YOUR vote
will decide those matters. But also pay
attention to what is happening on the national level, because that might
possibly have some influence on how you want to vote locally. We all like to think that we always vote for
the best qualified candidate; but the truth is that each candidate is a
loyal party member and will be obligated to their party. There are times when a lesser
candidate of one party is preferrable to a better candidate of the other
party. It is a complex decision. Bottom line: Stay informed…Think for
yourself…Apply common sense to your choices…AND VOTE. Let us get down to it.
The World is Turning,
Churning, and Burning.
Iran sending drones and troops to Russia. British Prime Minister Liz Truss has resigned
after just six weeks in office. Ukraine
continues the battle to rid its country of the Russian invader. North Korea is lobbing rockets over Japan. China thumps its chest and mocks the United
States. This and much more…and by the
way…no one seems to care what America thinks. It is bad enough that our President has
become an accepted joke in America; it is beyond dangerous that his
irresponsible and disjointed rhetoric puts the security of our country at risk. Ron Klain needs to put a sock in that man’s
mouth.

Closing the Barn Doors
After all of the Horses Have Escaped. Having been presented with a secure southern
border by President Trump and a sensible border wall well under construction,
our idiot President dismantled every…single…practical…and functioning…element
of immigration processing with no plan in mind to replace it with. And to make matters even more ridiculous, he
did this out of pure spite and partisan consideration. Now the chickens are coming home to
roost. Having allowed and encouraged an
illegal immigrant invasion across our southern border, the adverse consequences
of millions of illegal immigrants scattered throughout the communities, towns,
and cities of America with no provisions in place to accommodate them are
blowing up in the face of the Biden Administration and its naïve and foolish
liberal puppet masters. All of this…ALL
OF THIS…was entirely predictable.
That is precisely what makes it so inexcusable and tragic.

From Energy
Self-Sufficiency to Energy-Dependency; the Green New Deal “Magical Mystery Tour”
of the Liberal Democrats.
This, too, was entirely predictable.
Once again, ignorant and irresponsible actions taken out of sophomoric
spite and shallow “feel good” motivations are crashing into the harsh
and cold realities of hardship, terrible costs, and human suffering. All because we have idiots running our
governments. Fossil fuels and
alternative energy sources ARE NOT EXCLUSIVELY BINARY CHOICES. The rational approach is to apply the most
suitable energy source in a practical way to the proper circumstances. Let the free market determine where and
when and how those opportunities exist.

Drag Queens in the
Classroom…Have These People No Shame? School board “overlords” and the woken
corps of academia are indoctrinating our children in ways that not long ago
would have been considered unimaginable.
Transgender nonsense, critical
race theory, rewritten history…the list goes on and on. Admissions and grading standards have become
the equivalent of “participation trophies” and convenient means to “equity
and diversity”. The corrupt and
vicious money flow cycle of “liberal spending to academia to liberal
politicians to liberal spending” has become an accepted practice in
American education. The ones that are
benefitting ARE NOT the kids. And
of course, the coup de gras is…. student loan forgiveness; a gift from
liberal government to academia that will continue and escalate the
disproportionate spending on education administration as opposed to education
effectiveness; pushing the costs of education even higher.
