More Lunacy From the Left, and a Bit From the Right

The deluge of dumb from the liberal community in our nation is unrelenting; we witness on a daily basis one astounding idiocy topping the previous.  But lest we forget...there is an abundance of idiocy that also exists on the far right of the political spectrum.  And typically, a good deal of that is led by the Bard of Blarney himself, Donald Trump.

https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/wait-the-term-woke-means-what-now/

In typical Trump fashion, when his original endorsement goes south...he withdraws his endorsement.

https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/mo-brooks-campaign-implodes-in-alabama/?utm_source=blog-landing&utm_medium=desktop&utm_campaign=continue-reading

As in all things Trumpian...it is all Donald, all the time.

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2022/03/can-we-please-move-on.php

Of course, the big advantage held by The Donald is the fact that the sheer volume of foolishness flowing from the Left simply overwhelms that which is found on the Right.

The most recent poster child of the Left is SCOTUS nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson.  There is a lot to unpack regarding Ms. Jackson's nomination, but one of the most remarkable aspects of her Senate testimony is her ready acknowledgement to a lack of biological training.

Of course, it should be obvious to anyone paying attention that the Lunacy on the Left is led by the two top clowns in that circus.  They truly lend credence to the old saying about having to laugh to keep from crying.

https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2022/03/kamala-harris-self-help-guru.php

It might be easy enough to laugh at a Vice-President who appears to be of no consequence.  It is not so easy to by amused at the same level of incompetence when exhibited by our nation's leader in dangerous times.

Lest they be outdone by the cluelessness in the White House, there are those in the Republican Party who apparently feel that must match them stupid-for-stupid.

https://amgreatness.com/2022/03/22/ukraine-and-the-rino-delusion/

The painfully-obvious double standard exhibited by the mainstream media over the last couple of decades reached a crescendo with the Trump Administration and shows no sign of quietening down anytime soon.  Some of their shenanigans are baldly hilarious; some are deceptively amusing; others are downright chilling.

I have been very generous in my criticism of Donald Trump, how he conducted his last presidential campaign, and how I find his claims of a "stolen election" to be quite disingenuous.  That being said, there can be no doubt that there was some hinky stuff going on during our last national election and if Republicans don't wake up soon...it will come around again.

The Song Remains the Same

The hubris and arrogance of politicians in general and the mainstream media to baldly lie to the American people with no shame whatsoever and then expect them to swallow it down hook...line...and sinker is...well, it is quite understandable.  Over the last several decades, we have essentially ignored governmental corruption at disgusting levels with the simple act of returning the scoundrels involved to their positions in power.  As for the mainstream media...sometime around the beginning of the '90s, they became quite enchanted with the Clinton cult, their youthful indulgences, their thematic Fleetwood Mac soundtracks, their fast and loose adherence to the truth, and their beginning forays into what has now become commonplace...that being George Orwell's statement that...propaganda is as much a matter of what is left out, as of what is actually said.  This practice goes hand in hand with another truth that goes...history is largely a matter of exactly who is writing the history.

Two recent episodes of modern life and politics bear these prophecies out.  One is the shameful and ongoing effort of the mainstream media to aid and abet the Democratic Party not only in committing the worst political scandal in my lifetime, but then attempting (fairly successfully) to rewrite the facts surrounding the shameful chapter in a feeble attempt to diminish, justify, or mitigate it.  We can only hope that Special Counsel John Durham will eventually pull the sheet back on this travesty and there will be some semblance of justice meted out to the guilty parties.  However, in the meantime, we must educate ourselves as to what they did, how they got away with it, and how they are continuing to lie about it.

https://spectator.org/the-stench-of-spygate/

Unable to acknowledge the lack of integrity and professionalism relating to the coverage of the Trump/Russia Hoax, the mainstream media leapt once again to the rescue of wayward Democrats in its coverage (or lack thereof) of the Hunter Biden laptop episode; a good example of the second truism cited earlier.  Now don't get me wrong...I agree with most folks that family members of the President ought to be off limits for intensive press scrutiny.  But I think we can all agree that consideration is waived when those family members either willingly insert themselves into the public news cycle or include their elected (or wannabe elected) fathers in their misbehavior.

https://amgreatness.com/2022/03/17/jen-psaki-suddenly-tight-lipped-about-hunter-bidens-emails-after-new-york-times-finally-confirms/

I find it fascinating to watch how the Republican Party is handling the good fortune of having a Democrat Doofus as President, an even bigger Doofus as VP, clown show Democrat-majority leadership in Congress,  and the obvious contrast of Donald Trump's successful foreign and domestic policy initiatives with the dismal failures of the Biden Administration.  Ever wary of the reliable Republican practice of bringing a knife to a political gunfight, I live in constant fear that they will somehow snatch demoralizing defeat from the jaws of redemptive victory in the upcoming mid-term elections and, two years hence, the ensuing general elections.

https://amgreatness.com/2022/03/17/republicans-embrace-the-culture-war-and-cruise-to-victory/

Looking forward to those mid-terms...what are the chances that the Democrats can pull off some of the same election mischief that that they did in 2020?  Given the fact that the Republicans knew damn well what was coming in 2020 and failed to prevent it, it is hard to approach this November with a high degree of confidence for an improved national election environment.  There is a lot of agreement about where the problems lie.  The question is: Can they be fixed?

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2022/03/15/mail_voting_and_election_legitimacy_147335.html

It is beyond the realm of stupidity to think that in the midst of Russia's Ukrainian invasion, we would be negotiating a peace agreement (?) with the planet's leading mentor of international terrorism (Iran) and their partner in crime (Russia)...but there we sit, with the Biden Administration's chosen idiots negotiating our future.  What could possibly go wrong with this picture?

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/18332/arabs-warning-biden

The absurd nexus of the JCPOA Iran negotiations and the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine only serves to highlight how dangerous these times are for America with our pathetically-weak leadership in Washington.

https://amgreatness.com/2022/03/17/blame-putin-yes-but-also-blame-biden/

Unfortunately, the realm of foreign policy is not sufficiently expansive to also contain the Biden Administration's follies in domestic policy.  They are truly a universe unto themselves.  Two obvious truths that are somehow foreign to the Biden Team is the fact that churning out billions of dollars in unnecessary federal payments will inevitably lead to inflation and, to be equally expected, would be soaring fuel prices resulting from Biden strangling our domestic energy-producing sector.

In closing, I want to link an interesting article I ran across that addresses America's position in the evolving global environment.  This piece is especially pertinent in the context of the Russia/Ukraine war.  Following this article, I am linking an old blog of my own that addresses the same subject.  It is easy for us all to become consumed with the domestic issues that impact our daily lives and lose track of the ongoing and tragic conflicts that occur across our planet on a daily basis.  A high-profile story like Ukraine grabs our attention; but there are stories similar to it every day that somehow evade our notice.  The future role of America in the realm of global politics and security is the primary challenge for our leaders and that fact should never be lost among our obsessions with domestic affairs.

Biden Turmoil...Both Domestic and Foreign

I have made my affection for Trump policies and my disaffection for Trump the man quite clear on many occasions.  I continue to hope that the Republican Party can find a good alternative to running Trump once again in 2024.  Having said that, I will compare my assessment of all things Trump with what I tell my grandson when discussing why Tom Brady is the GOAT....just look at the record.  Any reasonable and objective evaluation of Trump's years compared to Biden's years-to-date can only yield one answer: What have we done to ourselves by putting these idiots in charge?   https://amgreatness.com/2022/03/10/under-president-trump-we-really-had-a-wonderful-life/

I am an Independent, but I am also a conservative.  As much as I have grown over the last few years to detest the Democrat Party, I have also become quite disenchanted with those individuals and entities who have canonized Donald Trump; stubbornly refusing to call out his flaws.  I count Fox News as one of those entities and would designate Sean Hannity as their lead cheerleader.  But having said that, I must concede to Fox and Sean...when you're right, you're right.   MSN Hannity CLIP

Of all things ignorant regarding the Biden Administration, right at the top of the list has to be his handling of America's energy sector.  In roughly 14 months, he has desecrated our oil and gas industries with petty and spiteful executive actions, onerous and excessive regulations, and illogical stupidity.  Our nation has gone from being energy independent and a net energy exporter to begging dictatorial thugs across the planet for oil exports, literally attempting to appease Iran in order to get their oil exports, and crawling on our hands and knees begging for Saudi Arabian oil...only to be humiliated when their leaders won't even answer a phone call from our President.

You know...the most maddening part of Biden's energy policies has got to be the absolute cluelessness he and his chosen clowns exhibit on a daily basis when discussing the adverse impact of what he has done.  These people are truly thick as a brick and could not find their asses with both hands.  https://www.jewishworldreview.com/0322/harsani031122.php3

It is beyond pathetic that this planet which we all inhabit stands before the very real prospect of a world war and the leader of the strongest nation on it has abdicated his moral responsibility to lead the forces of freedom on behalf of Ukraine.  France and Germany hold conference calls with Putin with utterly no regard to what America thinks.  Our President is simply too weak to get on a plane and travel overseas to assume his rightful place at the head of the NATO table.  I cannot come up with a word that adequately describes how pathetic this situation truly is.

And then...as if to add insult to injury...Biden sends VP Harris to Poland to represent our country on the world stage.  What could possibly go wrong with that? https://amgreatness.com/2022/03/10/kamala-harris-appears-unprepared-at-joint-presser-with-polish-president-laughs-nervously-offers-word-salad-answers/

Here is a collection of clear, concise articles that do a good job of summing up the current status of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  Pay particular attention to those pieces that include the views of people living in Ukraine or having close ties with that nation.

Sad, Sad State of Affairs

As war rages in Ukraine, I will try not to go too hard at our incompetent President and his pathetic cast of clowns.  He is our President, he will lead our nation, and our prayers are with him and the monumental decisions he will be making.

It is important for all of us to understand and embrace the fact that we do know the facts surrounding the  Russian/Ukrainian war.  In today's world, one simply cannot accept at face value the news reported by our media.  The best we ca do is to read from different sources, consider the inherent biases of those different sources, and apply a good dose of common sense and reason to the whole deal.

It is not helpful in these troubling times that the Biden Administration chooses to be deceptive, convoluted, and openly dishonest about the facts it discloses to the public.  Here is a case in point from Biden's chief mouthpiece, Circle Back Psaki: https://thefederalist.com/2022/03/07/jen-psaki-is-a-lying-liar-who-lies-insane-gas-prices-edition/

The ideologues in Biden's circle still control our President, but their hold on him is growing tenuous.  As more and more of their fantasyland policies are exposed for the idiocy they represent, the group battling the ideologues for control of Biden grow stronger.  This group (whom I will identify as the power seekers), are trying to seize control of  Biden's policies and narratives in an effort to salvage what they can from the upcoming mid-term elections.  They understand that if they lose Congressional control, then their ability to sustain their professional careers is in jeopardy.  They can feel their power slipping away.

The ideologues openly desire for the price of oil to get so high that consumers will be forced to move into the greener market zone of electric vehicles.  For them, the Ukrainian/Russian conflict is an opportunity to promote their cause.  The power seekers, while maintaining an allegiance to the liberal green radicals due to their political funding and influence, understand that at some point in the political process the cost of foisting an idiotic agenda on people is outweighed by the political costs it may incur in the areas of maintaining political control.

It is clear that alternative sources of energy should be researched, developed, and marketed based upon their advantages and disadvantages; that is how the free market works.  If a new energy source is affordable and efficient, it will find a place in our everyday lives; diversity in our energy source community is a GOOD thing.  But a new source's place in the energy sector must be earned on the basis of merit, not on the basis of governmental subsidy and support.  When the government picks winners and losers in our economy and culture, we all end up losing.

This green energy fantasy being promoted by the ideologues is being exposed.  Reality is setting the record straight: https://www.city-journal.org/ukraine-war-and-the-new-shale-revolution

The fundamental questions to be answered are one, which faction will control our President and two, if the power seekers prevail, how successful can they be at altering this Administrations policies in an effort to maintain political control through the mid-term elections?  Will Biden follow the liberal lunacy of the ideologues over a cliff or will he be sobered up by the power seekers trying to be the voice of reason?

We should watch the President, listen carefully to what he says and does, and then make a judgement on which group of these presidential influencers are in control.  Will Biden put a stop to importing Russian oil and gas?  Will Biden remove the shackles from America's energy sector and allow them to once again achieve energy independence for our nation, along with all the collateral benefits that go with it?  Will Biden take a different, more pragmatic approach to illegal immigration at our southern border?  Will Biden continue to wind down and distance himself from the autocratic and over the top pandemic rules that have choked our nation?  Will Biden stop advocating to indiscriminately  throw taxpayer dollars at every concern that impacts our culture and society?  Will Biden refrain from promoting discrimination through the suffocating emphasis on our economic and racial differences and instead try to promote policies that will enable people through opportunity rather than disable them through government handouts?

If we are to see from Biden indications that he is moving away from many of the bizarre policy initiatives that the ideologues are pushing, then we will see Biden begin to change his public tone.  We might see a new presidential Chief of Staff...one not quite as liberal as  Ron Klain.  If the power seekers gain the upper edge in the battle to control the strings attached to our marionette President, then these signals will be forthcoming.  If not, then our nation is barreling ever closer to that cliff that I mentioned earlier.

In closing, let me throw out some numbers that bring some clarity to Biden's stupidity.  America is importing around 600,000 barrels of oil from Russia DAILY.  At the current price of $130 per barrel, that means we are writing a check to Russia every day for about $78,000,000.  Ask yourself this question: Exactly who is funding Russia's invasion of Ukraine?  To put this issue in even better perspective, consider the fact that the Keystone Pipeline's (which was shut down by Biden in celebratory fashion) estimated level of production is around 800,000 barrels per day.  Faced with this challenge, where does our President go to get oil for America?  To Iran...to Venezuela...to Saudi Arabia.

Summer Comes with a Serious Look on Its Face

June 21 will be the first day of summer and it is introducing itself in my part of the world with a string of 90 degree-plus days and a dry ...
