Stirring the Pot and Other Unscrupulous Journalistic Pursuits

Pending appeal, the Chauvin trial is in the rear view mirror.  Specifically, we have now moved on to teen knife fights; but more generally, many of us are reflecting on exactly what is happening to our nation in terms of race relations and law enforcement.  Speaking of knife fights and media coverage...once again, the Babylon Bee scores with this bit of satire: https://babylonbee.com/news/nbc-edits-footage-of-michael-myers-to-make-it-look-like-hes-handing-flowers-to-townspeople

With the irresponsible and unethical mainstream media stoking the fires that are being frequently set by the Biden Administration and their legion of partisan-appointed idiots, we appear to moving from one ginned-up race-related atrocity to the next.  Anything and everything is apparently somehow motivated or caused by racial injustice or bigotry.  What has brought us to this point?

Here is a very interesting perspective by Michael Barone.  Mr. Barone is typically too complex for me to follow, but I find this piece to be very revealing and timely: http://jewishworldreview.com/michael/barone042321.php3

There are so very many misperceptions being driven by so very many agenda-driven interests these days that it is nigh on impossible to ascertain the veracity of any current event.  For instance, here are some numbers that many folks will find quite surprising: https://justthenews.com/nation/crime/survey-show-blacks-wildly-overestimate-frequency-police-fatally-shooting-young-black

And lest you believe that the Just the News article is somehow biased, let us examine what the Department of Justice has to say about the subject: https://www.cnsnews.com/article/national/michael-w-chapman/doj-report-black-victims-violent-crime-703-offenders-are-fellow

It is nothing short of breathtaking how the mainstream media will brazenly misrepresent news in a fashion that supports their own personal beliefs; beliefs that are about 99 percent liberal in nature.  And even more astonishing is the fact that even while President Trump was in office, his own Department of Justice was working against him.  Now most of the blame for this “traitor in the midst” situation lay at the feet of Trump.  He obviously tolerated far too many people in his Administration that, shall we say…did not agree with his policies.  For all my criticisms of President Biden, I will give him this: he did not hesitate to rid his Administration of the Trump leftovers and put his own people (unfortunately, mostly raving ideologues) in positions of authority and responsibility.  That, my friends, is how you implement your policies.

But back to Trump’s tenure, it is fascinating to note exactly who amongst the Trump appointees were retained by Biden.  Pay attention to the few that he decided to keep: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/01/21/biden-will-keep-christopher-wray-as-fbi-director-white-house-source-says.html .   Also consider the reasons why he might retain some of the Trump appointees:  https://www.bizpacreview.com/2021/04/23/scalise-slams-fbis-disturbing-designation-congressional-shooting-was-suicide-by-cop-he-went-to-kill-republicans-1064290/ . Do you suppose Trump had a fox in his henhouse?

To this handful of Trump officials that Biden is holding over, he is of course adding new faces to his crowd.  Not only are his new faces the equivalent of typical “big-footed, lip-sticked, red-nosed” clowns; but many of them are bald-faced and shameless corrupt individuals pursuing personal gain at the expense of the American taxpayer.  Consider this one for a moment: https://nypost.com/2021/04/22/are-conflicts-of-interest-ok-as-long-as-everythings-green/

Why do you suppose the Biden Administration is so keen on their “green energy” mania?  Lest we fall into the trap set by Biden’s “wind turbines, solar panels, rainbows and unicorns” rhetoric, we can only hope that someone, somewhere in his circus has enough sense to take a deep breath and consider how things function in the real world: https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2021/04/why-wind-and-solar-energy-are-doomed-to-failure.php

Have you ever wondered why it is that the overwhelming majority of green energy company owners are Democrats?  Or why the bulk of federal taxpayer energy subsidies flow to these particular companies.  As I have mentioned before, don’t be misled by what Biden, the Democrats, the liberal community, and the mainstream media say or report; simply read what they propose to do:  https://www.congress.gov/116/bills/hres109/BILLS-116hres109ih.pdf

It is agonizingly clear to anyone paying attention that the Democratic Party is doing every…single…thing within its power to capitalize on their slender House majority, their tenuous Senate control, and their hand puppet in the White House in an effort to implement as much liberal lunacy as quickly as possible.

Not a week goes by without some type of mystifying new policy initiative being bandied about through Executive Order or Legislative Action.  Transgender rights, court packing, critical race theory, rampant police reform, open borders, WDC statehood…where or when or how or what will it all lead us to?  One thing is for certain: Once they got in power, the Democrats are doing everything they can to stay in power.  Consider how they would like to conduct national elections in the future: https://amgreatness.com/2021/04/16/h-r-1-is-the-pillow-over-the-face-of-federalism/

Now consider how they have conducted elections in the recent past: https://amgreatness.com/2021/04/19/democrats-are-cheaters/

All voters benefit from open, honest, and accountable elections.  The recent Georgia election reform action should serve as a model for election integrity concerns moving forward.  Read it and decide for yourself: https://www.legis.ga.gov/api/legislation/document/20212022/201121

The Bad, the Badder, and the Ugly

First…the Bad.  Joe Biden is President today and the Democrats control the Senate with the VP tie-breaking vote because of Donald Trump.  Was there cheating in last November’s election?   Yes there was cheating in last November’s election.  Was it sufficient to tilt the election to Joe Biden and away from Donald Trump?  No one knows and no one will likely ever know.

But we do know this.  If Donald Trump had campaigned on his policy and accomplishments as opposed to his ego, he would still be President and the Republicans would still control the Senate.  The clown show that is the Democratic Party run amuck in Washington, DC would not be the daily attraction and the world would be a safer place.  All Trump had to do was keep…his…mouth…shut.  He would not.  He could not.  He did not.  He lost the presidential race and took the Senate down with him.  And now he gives us this: https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2021/04/trump-lashes-out.php .  Give it up. Shut up and go away.

Not content to take his licks and go back to the good life of having more money than one can spend in a lifetime; he is now sucking all of the oxygen out of the Republican room and leaving little space for whoever the next presidential candidate will be.  He is playing with us; he is teasing us; he is dangling his intentions before the media in a craven cry for attention.  He is deep-sixing the Republican Party’s chances to both regain control of Congress and make a strong run for the White House.   Look at the effect his behavior is having on selected and prospective Republican presidential candidates:  https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/nikki-haley-would-not-run-trump-2024 and this: https://www.newsmax.com/newsmax-tv/florida-gop-2024-presidential/2021/04/14/id/1017639/

In the Chief Executive Poker game, he held a royal flush and lost to candidate Joe Biden, who thought they were playing Rook. Trump is now treating the Republican Party as his own private playground and fiddling while the Democrats burn down America.  The sooner he announces he will not run again for President, the better.  If he does not announce this soon, then the Republican Party had better move on past him and start the process of selecting his successor.  If this dalliance with Trumpmania continues, it is quite possible that the Democrats will remain in power in spite of their idiocy.  The Republican Party must come up with sane and responsible candidates that offer a ray of hope in this sea of chaos. Otherwise, our future is dark.

Alas…the Badder.  Did you vote Democrat last November?  How do you feel about the party you voted for treating you like you are stupid?  Oh…you don’t believe that?  Let us do the math.  The current Supreme Court stands with a conservative tilt at a 6 to 3 count.  The Democrats want to add 4 seats to the SCOTUS.  The Democrats hold the White House and control the Senate; thus permitting them to confirm any SCOTUS nominee(s) of their choosing.  3 plus 4 equals 7 and 7 is greater than 6.  That is the end of this week’s class… “Math for Democrat Voters”.

The insatiable Democrat appetite for power and control is simply out of control.  Their bald-faced grasping for every…bit…of…process that will serve their glory quest is squarely in the center of the table.  Do not listen to what they say or what their media henchmen write; pay attention to what they do.  In pursuit of their goal for total and perpetual political domination, they will sacrifice anyone, anything, and any principle for the sake of victory.  They are literally shameless.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/the-abiding-shame-of-packing-the-supreme-court-opinion/ar-BB1fGVqh?ocid=uxbndlbing

One has to wonder exactly what has changed in the world.  The Democrats used to be against court packing.

https://www.cnsnews.com/blog/craig-bannister/flashback-watch-joe-biden-call-packing-supreme-court-bonehead-idea-terrible

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/ruth-bader-ginsburg-opposes-liberal-court-packing-and-praises-trump-appointees

But now…with caution thrown to the wind, the federal purse strings shredded, and liberal lunacy the flavor of the month…why not go for it all.  Ah yes…that old lust for power and control.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/byron-yorks-daily-memo-progressive-democrats-go-for-it

Now some will say that this is nothing more than the radical elements of the Democratic Party feeling their oats.  Read this excerpt from the head Congressional Democrat and see if it sounds like an emphatic “NO” to you.  https://www.cnsnews.com/blog/craig-bannister/pelosi-no-plans-bring-court-packing-bill-house-floor-time .  It sounds to me like Pelosi is saying “NO” to court packing…as long as the Democrats don’t have the votes to pass it; but if that changes…we’ll reconsider.

…and post your comments to spur discussion.

And finally, the Ugly.  In Biden’s world, it is “all race, all the time”.  Race hustlers prosper.  Rioting and looting become commonplace.  The identity politics of the Democratic Party is ripping and tearing this nation apart.  The media is complicit in what they report, how they choose to report it, and what they choose not to report

The Biden Administration and the dim-witted Democrats see racism in the clouds, in the water puddles, in the forests, and in every aspect of American culture and society.  I would imagine they see it in their bowl of cereal every morning (Woke Flakes).  This madness must stop.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/buttigieg-claims-racism-is-physically-built-into-u-s-interstate-system

What has our nation come to when we dismantle, disparage, and defund the very people who protect our families and our communities?  Are there bad cops out there?  Of course there are a few bad cops out there!  Should we judge all cops by the bad cops?  Of course not!  If you are a bad cop, you should face the consequences of your bad actions.  On the other hand…if you are a criminal and you break the law, should you expect to be handled with kid gloves, held up by the media as a hero, and settle law suits for large sums of money with woke city governments?  Kind of looks that way doesn’t it.

https://nypost.com/2021/04/12/how-did-it-become-normal-for-every-police-shooting-to-bring-ruinous-rioting/

Exactly who are these people and organizations driving this anti-police sentiment all across our country?  How do you suppose they are managing the millions of dollars that bleeding-heart liberals (and our federal government) are sending their way?

https://www.dailywire.com/news/cashing-in-blm-co-founder-goes-on-real-estate-buying-binge-snagging-four-homes-totaling-millions-of-dollars-report

Isn’t it amazing how some stories just never seem important enough for the liberal media to cover?  I guess if it doesn’t fit their agenda, it simply isn’t worthy.  Never forget Orwell… “Propaganda is as much a matter of what is left out, as of what is actually said”.  Censorship, journalistic misinformation and political bias, and news without ethics are cancers that will destroy our nation.

You probably did not hear about this one either: https://abc7chicago.com/federal-judge-killed-by-hit-and-run-driver-in-florida/10509403/ .  It is interesting how the cast of characters often determines the amount of coverage.

Turmoil spreads in America, while unrest builds across the globe.  In a world full of questions, does our President have the answers…or do our enemies look at us and then decide…NOW is the time to move?

Democrats: Spending YOUR Money and Screwing Up the Game

Banzai Biden and his Bumbling Band of Bureaucrats are continuing their carnival antics in our nation’s capital.  The biological, philosophical, and realworldalogical connections between their brains and their mouths have apparently been severed, neutralized, or totally removed.  They have somehow entered the transporter mechanism of the Enterprise and reassembled themselves in a parallel universe from whence they just departed.  What is happening?  This: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxf_Dvy0VLs

Unbound by any reasonable thoughts of statesmanship, diplomacy, or bipartisanship, they are barreling full-bore ahead with a plan to transform this nation into a vision of liberal lunacy.  What just a few months ago seemed like a bad dream that dissipates after waking has now become the nagging and constant pain behind the eyes that could easily be mistaken for a migraine or a sinus headache.  But it’s not; we are well into the….Democrat Zone.

What exactly is the Biden Administration up to?

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2021/04/01/bidens_bait-and-switch_presidency_145512.html

https://amgreatness.com/2021/04/04/donald-j-trump-joe-bidens-best-friend/

https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/joe-bidens-non-existent-mandate/

And here, my friends, are exactly the kind of people that inhabit the Bizarre World of Biden: https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2021/04/who-is-the-phoniest-of-them-all.php  These people are totally clueless; how stupid do they think we are to pull a stunt like this and expect us to believe it?

Boondoggle the Sequel (otherwise known as The American Jobs Act) was all teed up and ready to launch…then a strange thing happened.  People began to read what was actually in it!   Remember…this is INFRASTRUCTURE legislation.

Now Biden is backpedaling, looking for compromise, and throwing excess baggage overboard in an effort to save this ridiculous piece of legislation.  On the heels of one federal spending drunken craze that was the result of Senate reconciliation action, we are now looking down the barrel of more unbridled federal spending.  Not satisfied with passing a coronavirus relief bill that featured very little effective relief for the pandemic, the Congressional Democrats are now seeking to repeat their performance with an infrastructure bill that has very little to do with infrastructure.

If you do not believe that this so-called infrastructure bill is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, read this: https://www.congress.gov/116/bills/hres109/BILLS-116hres109ih.pdf

Introduced in the House in February of 2019, this was the sweeping transformation that the liberal community dreamed of.  Look at the sponsors of this legislation.  Read this legislation.  Then carefully consider how much the Biden Administration’s infrastructure bill resembles the New Green Deal.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/breaking-down-whats-really-in-bidens-infrastructure-plan

It is like walking into a time machine and being transported back to the early days of the first Obama Administration.  The Democrats could have passed in bipartisan nature 85 percent of Obamacare; but NO, they had to pass 100 percent.  They shoved it down the throats of Republicans and the nation and paid a heavy price for it; and so did we.

If they would simply propose an infrastructure bill that actually addressed infrastructure, this too could be easily passed with bipartisan support.  But the Democrats prowling the streets of WDC these days are in no mood to listen to Republicans.  They have dumped galaxies of liberal foolishness into this legislation under the guise of infrastructure.

Our President is looney tunes and the whole world knows it.  Presidents have always played fast and loose with the truth, but Biden has taken a comfortable lead in that contest just a couple of months into his term: https://www.nationalreview.com/the-morning-jolt/you-cant-ignore-physics-joe/

Our government simply cannot continue to print money and spend it like there is no consequence to that irresponsible practice.  Once again, the Biden Administration has put this pattern on steroids.

https://www.newsmax.com/politics/stephenmoore-spending-greennewdeal-debt/2021/04/04/id/1016283/

And while we are spending federal money (that we don’t have) like it is burning our pockets, why not just go ahead and cancel legitimate debt that might somehow support in a fiscally-responsible fashion legitimate federal spending: https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/biden-student-loan-debt-forgiveness-executive-order

The Democratic obsession with guns has risen to a level that is surreal.  The way they drone on and on about assault weapons and magazines and military applications, we could almost think that they are getting some type of biological or supernatural thrill simply from the discussion of firearms.  Perhaps there is some type of masochistical thing going on between firearms and Democrats; some type of love/hate relationship?

Journalism in our nation, most of it anyway and certainly that which is regurgitated by the mainstream media, is a farce of monumental proportion.  When the so-called elder and award-winning leaders of the profession cop this type of attitude, what should we expect: https://www.nationalreview.com/news/nbcs-lester-holt-urges-journalists-to-ditch-objectivity-fairness-is-overrated/

As we continue to observe the devolution of the journalism profession and how it has sold its soul to the liberal element in our country, there is a growing concern about how our vacancy in the Commander and Chief category places our nation’s security in jeopardy.

A handful of quick closing notes.  Here is an interesting article on the reconsideration that is taking place regarding our nation’s approach to the pandemic.  I fear that history will record that even though “science” was the most repeated word in the discussion of pandemic measures; it was quite likely one of the least relevant in their applications: https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/those-doomsday-predictions-for-post-mask-texas-they-are-now-coming-true-but-in-michigan

The Chauvin trial continues with the prosecution soon to wrap up their case; then it will be time for the defense to take the stage: https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2021/04/the-chauvin-trial-so-far.php

Do you ever marvel at the different ways a news story is presented based the content of the characters involved?  Like…what if George Floyd had been a white man?  Or, in the case of the linked story here…what if Phillip Adams had been white?  In a perfect world, we would lose our emotions tied to race, gender, religion, etc. and simply judge the story on the basis of the facts, knowing that human beings were involved.

Perhaps Newsmax is attempting to apply that principle here.  I could be wrong, but the race of the victims in this crime is never mentioned in the article.  Would that have been the case if the shooter had been white? https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/south-carolina-shooting-nfl-phillip-adams/2021/04/08/id/1016820/

Here is a closing note on the Biden Administration’s maddening quest for clean energy.  As embarrassing as it is to see Joe Biden perform as our President; it is perhaps even more troubling to know that John Kerry is parading around the globe in his new role as (yes, this is the official title)  United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.  If you lived in a foreign land and the only American you ever came into contact with or read about was John Kerry, you TOO would likely have a very low opinion of Americans.

In their liberal fantasy world, electricity is plentiful, free, and absolutely pure; unfortunately, reality has a different take on the subject.  Have you filled up with gas lately or glanced at your electric bill?  https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2021/04/germanys-energy-disaster.php

This globalist tendency exhibited in the quest for green energy is little more than a symptom of the liberal desire to be part of a larger, more intelligent entity that rules the earth.  Their goal is to subjugate America to the international intelligentsia.  This agenda will be the driving force behind many of the policies that the Biden Administration introduces.  If we are not careful, we are going to lose our country: https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2021/04/globalist-dogma-means-the-end-of-america-and-thats-the-goal.php

FWIW....Today I slept in late and had an extra cup of coffee out on the front porch, watching the world wake up.  There's plenty of young deer this year and lots of turkeys; they'll make good targets here in about a week.

I mowed the yard, performed annual service on the ATVs, and then fed the cattle and the horses,   The lilacs and the fruit trees...apple, pear, peach, plum, cheery... are all full of blooms this year.  Really looking forward to the dogwoods; they should be glorious. I got the grapevine pruned last week and here's hoping for a good enough crop to make some jelly and maybe a jag of wine. Pastures have come on real good and the cattle are backing way off the hay rings...about time.  New calves are hitting the ground and here's hoping the cattle market prices keep pace with the grocery store beef prices.  Weather permitting, we'll be putting out the garden in the next couple of weeks.

I sat down at the shop this afternoon in my old rocking chair, drank a cold Bud Light, listened to a great classic rock radio station out of Bowling Green, and watched a beautiful sunset on the western horizon.  Our Good Lord sure did make a magnificent world, didn't he?  Praise....His....Name.

Life down here on the farm is good...regardless of who is in charge of WDC.  As long as they stay out of my face, I will damn sure stay out of theirs.

How Long Has This Been Going On

The echo chamber that is liberal groupthink in this country is surely on the verge of collapsing upon itself.  One has to wonder how long such idiocy can be maintained without any tangible benefit to support it.  The giant bubble of the radical left which contains all of the Karens and Snowflakes and Naïve Re-creators has swelled up to proportions heretofore unseen; but the thin membrane that surrounds this environment of fantasy and wishful thinking must be stretching close to its point of rupture.

Even though the liberal element in our political and societal realm has always been with us, its present seizure of extraordinary rule through minimal majority representation has pushed its presence far beyond the rational consideration of its viewpoints and policies into a reality where it is in our face every day, all day long.  It seemingly permeates every nook and cranny of our lives.  How in the world has such a slim slice of idealism managed to obtain such a foothold on our culture?

This extreme and nonsensical element has always been with us; just like the ultra-conservative tilt, its influence grows and wanes as the years pass.  It has, at times, provided a useful counter-balance to extreme conservative views that reach beyond reasonableness.  It has, at other times and when it was undiluted, led to poorly-considered actions that have wrought serious damage upon our nation and its people.  Why today, with a Democrat President, a marginally-Democrat House, and a politically split Senate has the Democrat party with the temporary upper-hand decided that it is time to parlay minimal partisan advantage into seismic cultural and societal change; change which is undisputedly opposed by at least 45 to 55 percent of the American citizenry?  On the wings of their disposition of Trump and their surprising Senate victories in Georgia, the Democrats have apparently decided that the iron is hot and NOW is the time to strike.

It is tragic that many voters have relegated their concern for our government to the lower tiers of daily worries; that is understandable given the world we live in today.  But the idiocy being illustrated by the Biden Administration and the Democrats in Congress did not just arrive on the scene with the January 20 inauguration.  Biden and his primary opponents clearly told us what their intentions were and no one has the excuse that this madness has crept up on them.   It might be true that it is just now manifesting itself in a volume of such magnitude; but it has been around for a long time.  If you did not see it coming, you simply were not paying attention.  This song is for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGP9uz4s8hQ

The Biden Administration continues to grapple with the dire consequences of its ill-considered and hasty destruction of President Trump’s immigration policies.  The immigration crisis at our southern border is escalating on a daily basis and all the denial in the world from the President and his lackeys in the mainstream media will not make it go away.

It sure sounds like our Vice-President who wants to take charge of everything doesn’t want anything to do with this border crisis.  Can you say “hot potato”? https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/white-house-confusion-surrounding-kamala-harris-role

There is so much more to be said about this catastrophe, but until Biden can at least acknowledge the problem, its solution must lie in wait.    Thoughtful, considered, disciplined immigration is an essential part of our nation’s fabric.  Open, unregulated, and chaotic immigration is nothing short of a national crisis and poses serious threats to our nation’s security.  Somewhere in the middle must be a common-sense solution to this emotional, political slugfest.  Closing out this blog’s remarks on the border crisis, we will leave with a song.  Here’s hoping that that middle ground might be found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm7b-32Mpbs

Over two months into his term, our President decided to hold his first press conference.  If you are one who did not witness the event and relies instead on media accounts, you might think it was either a tour-de-force or a colossal embarrassment…depending on your journalistic source.  If you did witness it, there can be little doubt in your mind that regardless of the grade you might have given the event, our President is little more than a hollow man fronting an ensemble of manipulators who hover behind the scene while he stumbles and mumbles in the spotlights. The whole world is seeing what you and I are seeing.  It is truly a frightening time for America.

Among the many “duh” moments Biden’s press conference presented was this one about the Senate filibuster being a relic of racist intent.  I suppose it is true that when age begins to assert its dilatory spells, memory is one of the first things to be attacked.

As have the last several Presidents before him, Biden is showing early and troubling signs of being in love with the Executive Action when he cannot persuade Congress to do his bidding.  I am not certain that two months is anywhere near adequate time to debate serious issues; but that is in the eye of the beholder.  In this particular area, Biden and his Democrat friends are chomping at the bit and can barely contain their enthusiasm for the fight.

If, in the Democrat’s perfect world, all of our guns are somehow confiscated and disappear; I suppose we would be totally reliant on our government and police departments for the safety and security of ourselves and our families.  Let’s see…how might that work out?

Do you suppose the fact that Mrs. Mosby is encountering some legal difficulties has anything at all to do with her recent “high profile” news conferences?

https://www.dailywire.com/news/baltimore-will-stop-prosecuting-low-level-offenses-such-as-drug-possession-prostitution

I’m no mathematical genius, but I am pretty certain that in a place like Baltimore, if you stop making arrests for drug possession and prostitution, the number of crimes statistically recorded will in fact…go down.

Here is another unique spin on crime from another liberal official: https://www.dailywire.com/news/horrible-timing-d-c-mayor-calls-auto-theft-crime-of-opportunity-amid-skyrocketing-carjacking-rates-meets-with-immediate-backlash

Speaking of policing, the Chauvin trial in Minnesota has commenced.  Here is a short preview and a wrap-up of the recently completed jury selection and pre-trial motions.  I have sat on a few (minor case) juries in my time and believe me when I say this: this one will be no picnic.

I realize that I have been ripping on the Democrats incessantly for the last couple of months and that is an awkward position for a blog with Centerline in its title.  The truth is that as bad as the Republicans can be at times, the Democrats have simply outdistanced them in that category.  It is not even close.  Perhaps it will even up before too long.  For now, the Democrats richly deserve all of the ridicule I can heap upon them.

One bright note for the Democrats came this week from one of their leaders that I have both disparaged and complimented.  Bernie Sanders holds some policy ideas that I personally consider nothing short of looney tunes; but as I have written in the past, he has been sincere and consistently true to his beliefs over the course of his political career.  That cannot be said for very many practicing politicians today; our President foremost among them.  I salute Sanders for his recent remarks on censorship and hope that some of his colleagues join him.

Speaking of looney tunes….there was this remark by the President and the wonderful follow-up by the Babylon Bee.

There are some people out there who are willing to serve us in Congress and do not agree with this type of liberal pabulum.  This just might be one of them: https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/big-dan-rodimer-makes-his-move/

Here are three quick notes to close out this piece.  First up is Biden’s faux outrage at the totally sensible election reforms recently passed by the Georgia legislature and signed by their Governor.  If the vote is so precious to Democrats, then why not insure its validity?  Think about all the times in this world that you have to present a personal ID and ask yourself: are those things more important than your vote?

Secondly, here is some more perspective on the lockdown actions taken across our nation in reaction to the pandemic.  Hindsight and time will no doubt change many of the perceptions we all hold regarding this time in our lives; some of those changes will be damning.  I wonder…are the “vaccine police” just around the corner?

https://www.city-journal.org/death-and-lockdowns

https://justthenews.com/government/white-house/biden-admin-wont-impose-vaccine-passport-mandate-interagency-process

Thirdly and finally, here is a good article about what will likely be the next spending monstrosity passed by the Democrats and Republicans in Congress and signed by our President.  When you take into account that President Trump persistently promoted and supported passage of a huge infrastructure bill and couple that with the fact that it could likely be passed through the Senate via reconciliation, the odds are pretty good that we will soon be seeing a huge influx of money for roads, bridges, and who knows what else.

Do not be fooled.  They buy you off with so-called stimulus payments and then raise taxes and fees to levels that far exceed any amount you might have received.  They just love to spend your money.  They love to spend it in ways that they think is proper and correct.  It is called redistribution.
